Anne Welsh McNulty is an active philanthropist and advocate for leadership development and social change. She is the co-founder and managing partner of JBK Partners, with businesses including investment management and a private philanthropic foundation. Before starting JBK Partners, she was a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs and a senior executive of the Goldman Sachs Hedge Fund Strategies Group. As a woman who has broken barriers herself in becoming a leader in her field, Anne is an enthusiastic advocate for women’s leadership. She actively supports initiatives that increase the representation of women in leadership positions and build conscious and inclusive environments that enable women to flourish—key aims of the Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women’s Leadership at Villanova.
 
Anne-Marie Slaughter PhD, JD
President and CEO
New America
Anne-Marie Slaughter is the President and CEO of New America and the Bert G. Kerstetter ’66 University Professor Emerita of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University. From 2009-2011 she served as the director of Policy Planning for the United States Department of State, the first woman to hold that position. She has written or edited seven books, including “the Chessboard and the Web: Strategies of Connection in a Networked World”, “Unfinished Business: Women Men Work Family”, and “A New World Order”, and is a frequent contributor to a number of publications, including The Atlantic, Financial Times, and Project Syndicate. In 2012, she published “Why Women Still Can’t Have It All,” in The Atlantic, which quickly became one of the most read articles in the history of the magazine and helped spark a renewed national debate on the continued obstacles to genuine full male-female equality. 
 
Patrick G. Maggitti PhD

Villanova University
As University Provost, Dr. Maggitti has oversight of the University’s academic enterprise. He has a major role in advancing the University’s vision and strategy, ensuring that Villanova’s greatest priority is academic excellence and the holistic education of its undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students. Dr. Maggitti previously served as the Helen and William O’Toole Dean of the Villanova School of Business. He has been a faculty member since 2008 is also professor of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship and the former Carmen and Sharon Danella Director of the Center for Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (ICE Center) at the Villanova School of Business. Prior to academia, Dr. Maggitti spent nearly 15 years in the steel and mining industries, where he founded two successful companies and held a variety of roles, including chief executive officer, director of national sales, and board member. He has also consulted with a variety of international organizations—including several Fortune 500 companies—on many facets of strategy and entrepreneurial thinking. He received a BS in Chemistry from Saint Joseph’s University; an MBA with high honors from the Johns Hopkins University; and a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Maryland.
 
Rev. Peter M. Donohue OSA, PhD

Villanova University
The Reverend Peter M. Donohue, OSA, became the 32nd president of Villanova University on June 1, 2006. Under his leadership, Villanova has charted a course of significant transformation that includes embarking on an ambitious ten-year strategic plan, launching the University’s largest comprehensive fundraising campaign, initiating a vibrant physical campus renovation and dramatically expanding student opportunities. Bolstered by this vision, the University has introduced new initiatives, become more nationally recognized for its academic prowess and broken University admission records. Father Donohue has also worked together with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents to strengthen the Villanova community and renew its commitment to the institution’s Augustinian, Catholic educational mission. Born in the Bronx, New York, and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan, Father Peter earned a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University in 1975 and was ordained an Augustinian priest in 1979. He has a master’s in Theatre from the Catholic University of America, a masters in Divinity from the Washington Theological Union, and a Ph.D. in Theatre from the University of Illinois.

Terri Boyer, EdD, '95 CLAS is the founding director of the Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women's Leadership and an associate professor of Education and Counseling. An innovative leader in economic and social equity for women, Dr. Boyer previously served as executive director of the Center for Women and Work and as an assistant research professor at Rutgers University. Dr. Boyer is an accomplished author who has published widely on educational and workforce equity, institutional reform for equity, women's education and leadership, the effectiveness of equity programs, and assessment and teacher training. She is a skilled researcher who has secured substantial federal, state and private grant funds to support critical work on the issues of the advancement of women and gender equity. Known as an outstanding professor, Dr. Boyer has taught classes on working women in America, work-life balance, leadership development, youth and work, and career planning and development. Dr. Boyer holds a doctorate in Education and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Villanova, and she received the Medallion of Excellence from the Department of Education and Counseling the year she graduated.
