Please join us for the third annual Anti-Poverty Symposium. This year's event will be headlined by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Matthew Desmond, PhD, and focus on how local, community-based actions can address systemic poverty.

Additionally, the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board has approved this symposium for 4.5 Substantive CLE credits. Please note: CLE registration prior to the event is preferred.

About the Speaker

Matthew Desmond, PhD, is a Pulitzer Prize winning-author of Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City (2016) and Poverty, By America (2023). He is the Maurice P. During Professor of Sociology at Princeton University, where he is the principal investigator of the Eviction Lab. His 2017 Pulitzer Prize citation read, "For a deeply researched exposé that showed how mass evictions following the 2008 economic crash were less a consequence than a cause of poverty."
