As we prepare to welcome you back to campus, here are answers to some of our most commonly asked questions. Click on the topics below to jump to the specific section. These FAQs will also be available in the VU Events App for quick reference during the Leadership Summit.

Who Can Attend

Villanova alumni of all class years are invited to attend the Leadership Summit. Interested parents and friends are also welcome to register. We will also have a limited number of spaces available for faculty, staff and students. 

Who is attending the Leadership Summit? 

Click the "Attendees" icon in the VU Events app or  view the attendee list online. To find out more information about an attendee, you may look them up via the  Nova Network

Event Registration

When will registration open and close? 

Registration for the 2019 Leadership Summit is now closed. Please contact alumni@villanova.edu with questions.

What methods can I use to register for the Leadership Summit?

Online registration is the preferred method, but you may also call 1-800-VILLANOVA (1-800-845-5266) to have someone assit you with registration. We encourage you to review the agenda of events in advance, so you will be able to complete your registration in a timely manner.

Do I need to register in advance?

Yes, all attendees are required to pre-register to ensure proper space and meal-planning. We will not be able to accommodate walk-up registrants on the day of the event, so be sure to secure your spot early.

What is the cost to attend the Leadership Summit?

The event fee for the Leadership Summit is $50 and covers all activities and meals/refreshments from registration through the closing reception. Student registration is complimentary. Travel and lodging expenses are the responsibility of the individual attendee. If you would like to support this important initiative, we encourage you to consider one of our sponsorship opportunities.

How will I know that my registration has been received and processed?

After you register, you will be sent a confirmation via email. Please retain this email for your records. If you have misplaced your confirmation email, you may call 1-800-VILLANOVA (1-800-845-5266) or email  alumni@villanova.edu to request another one. 

Can I reserve a table at the Keynote Lunch?

Seating at the Keynote Lunch is first come, first serve for attendees. We recommend that you arrive early to secure a table, should you have a large party with whom you wish to sit. 

May I switch to a different session than my original registration?

Registration for the 2019 Leadership Summit is now closed. If you need any additional support about your registration, please call 1-800-VILLANOVA (1-800-845-5266) or email  alumni@villanova.edu.

Mobile App

Where do I download the app? 

Leadership Summit details are now available through the Villanova Alumni Events Guides (VU Events) app!

  1. Download the Villanova Alumni Events Guides (VU Events) app, version 1.6, from the Apple and Google Play stores. 
  2. Once the app is downloaded, log in with the email address you used to register for the Leadership Summit and use the password Nova1842 to get all the latest updates.*

*You must be registered for the Leadership Summit in order to log into the app and ensure you receive all event updates. If you already have the VU Events app, ensure you have the most recent version, 1.6, and then simply log in with the password Nova1842 after you have registered for the Summit.

How do I log in to the app? 

To log in, click the three dots in the upper right corner of the VU Events app menu. Your username is the email address you used to register for the Leadership Summit. The password is Nova1842. If someone else registered for you, try logging in using the email address where you usually receive emails from Villanova. If that does not work, click the "Ask A Question" icon on the app menu or email alumni@villanova.edu to request that your email address be added.

What is my password for the app? 

The password to login to the app is Nova1842.

How do I enable notifications? 

Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the VU Events app menu screen, then click "Settings." Make sure that the toggle for "Allow push" is green. Also, check your device's notification settings to ensure that notifications are allowed for the VU Events app.

How can I learn about all of the app features?

To learn how to best utilize the app features, we recommend viewing the Using the VU Events App section of the website. 

How can I search for fellow attendees in the app?

There are two ways to search for attendees:

  1. Select the "Attendees" icon in the VU Events app menu. Once in the "Attendees" icon, click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner to enter keywords in the search box, such as class year or college. Everyone that applies will appear in the results below.
  2. Select the "Search" icon on the VU Events app menu, and enter an attendee's name into the search box. This will search the entire VU Events app for the attendee.

Can I contact fellow attendees in the app?

Yes, fellow attendees can be contacted using the "Chat" module in the VU Events app. Simply click the "Chat" icon and search for the attendee. To send a message, click the attendee's name in the search results and type your message. Your message will be delivered to the recepient's "Chat" module provided they are logged into the VU Events app. 

The schedule of events is not displaying correctly in the app. What do I do?

Ensure you are using the most recent version of the VU Events app by checking for updates.

The app does not recoginize my login information. What do I do?

Please ensure you are using the same email address that you used to register for the Leadership Summit. If you are still unable to log in and need additional assitanace, click the "Ask a Question" icon in the VU Events app menu or email alumni@villanova.edu to contact us.

Traveling to Campus

Where should I park?  

Complimentary parking will be available in the L-2 lot located off of Lancaster Avenue. If the L-2 lot is full, overflow parking is available on South Campus in the I-2 lot off of South Ithan Ave. For those parking on South Campus, a shuttle will be running from South Campus to Main Campus. Those who would prefer to park in the I-1 Garage may do so on the lower three levels at the established visitor rates. What hotel accommodations are available for out-of-town attendees?  

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Marriott Philadelphia West in Conshohocken. When calling the hotel, please mention Villanova University. Reservations must be made by Wednesday, October 2, to receive the discounted rate of $229/night. Should the block sell out, a number of additional hotel options are available in the Villanova area.

Getting Around Campus

Where can I find a map of campus?  

You can view the campus map.

Where can I see my session location?  

Session locations will be listed on the Agenda page on the website and in the "Summit Agenda" icon on the VU Events app as they become available. To view a map and get directions to each location, click the "Places" icon in app. To view the sessions for which you are registered, click the "My Schedule" icon in the app.

Day-of-Event Logistics

What is the dress code?  

The dress code is business casual. This could include pants or a skirt, sweater or casual blouse, khakis, slacks and a button-down or golf shirt. Sport coat is optional, but recommended for the Keynote Lunch and closing reception.

What is the purpose of the QR Code on my badge? 

Your badge will be scanned to enter each session at the Leadership Summit. The QR code is on your badge for convenience as you move from session to session.

Will meals be served at the Leadership Summit?

Yes, the Summit includes a continental breakfast, full lunch and snacks throughout the day. Cocktails and hors d'ouevres will be served at the closing reception.

Will WiFi be available on campus?

Yes, Leadership Summit speakers and attendees will be able to use free WiFi during the event. Select the WiFi network "Alumni," use the password "Nova2019" and accept the terms and conditions.

Are there lactation rooms available?

Yes, lacatation rooms will be available in the Bryn Mawr Room in the Connelly Center and in Bartley Hall, Room 3030.

I can't remember which sessions I registered to attend. Where can I find that information?

You can find your sessions under "My Schedule" icon in the VU Events app.

Which sessions will be recorded? Where can I find the recordings?

Several sessions will be recorded, so you can revisit the discussion or attend another session without missing out! The recorded sessions will be announced soon. A link to the recordings will be emailed to attendees following the Leadership Summit.

Special Needs/Assistance & Dietary Requirements

How can I let someone know about my specific special need?  

Please let us know about any specific special needs—including dietary requirements or mobility needs—when you register or by emailing alumni@villanova.edu or calling 1-800-VILLANOVA (1-800-845-5266). We will do our best to accommodate your needs as long as we know about your circumstances at least one week prior to the event. 

Whom should I call in an emergency?  

In the event of an emergency, call Villanova Public Safety at 610-519-4444.
