2025 Mother Mary Lange Lecture in Black Catholic Studies
The Fifth Annual Mother Mary Lange Lecture in Black Catholic Studies will be presented by Dr. Tia Noelle Pratt, Special Assistant to the Vice President and Director of Mission Engagement and Strategic Initiatives at Villanova University in the Office for Mission and Ministry (Full Bio). It will take place on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 4 p.m. ET in the Connelly Center’s Villanova Room on the Villanova University campus. The lecture is titled, “Black and Catholic: Racism, Identity and Religion.”
Villanova's annual lecture is named in honor of the Venerable Mother Mary Lange the chief founder of the Oblate Sisters of Providence, the first permanent congregation of African American women religious in the Catholic Church. The lecture is sponsored by the Office for Mission and Ministry and the Office of the Dean, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Past lecture recordings are available on our website.
