About The Creek

The Creek Club sits along 186 acres on the Gold Coast of Long Island’s North Shore in Locust Valley, NY, overlooking Long Island Sound. The Creek was founded in 1923 as a golf club by some of New York’s elite, including J.P. Morgan, Vincent Astor, George F. Baker, Jr., Harry Payne Whitney and Marshall Field. The original C.B. Macdonald golf course was built in 1925. It has long been recognized as one of the finest courses in the Met Section. The course re-opened in May 2018 after a yearlong restoration by Gil Hanse. Gilbert Hanse is arguably the finest American golf course architect of our time. Hanse was selected to design the Rio 2016 Olympic Golf Course, as well as other well known courses such as Merion, Aronimink, Winged Foot, Sleepy Hollow and Westhampton.
